My dream job has always been to deliver babies. But 20 years ago I didn't want to go to school for another 4 years to be a midwife, or 7-10 to be an OBGYN. I believed that paramedics delivered babies (and they do - all the time)...and so one year of college and the ability to deliver a baby now and again sounded like a dream. It's still a dream...LOL. I have been a paramedic for 18 years. I graduated 20 years ago and even as a student...I never ever did get to deliver a baby.
When I discovered newborn photography to fill that "newborn" passion that was missing from my life...I also discovered birth photography. I have been so blessed to be there at the most intimate miracles of life and photographing the emotion of a baby being brought into this world...has made my heart just so full.
When I first met with this family, they were due the end of July and mom was certain she would have her baby in August. Not knowing his {amazing} name yet, I was there when mom was sooooo hoping this little guy would hold on just a few more hours. But he had other plans. I got to photograph this baby boy being brought into the world in the comfort of their own home...and then 2 weeks later got to capture him again. August was born July 31st, and I absoutley LOVE his name...and that FACE!
Thanks mom and dad for bringing me into your lives to capture this amazing time. I can't believe I got to be a part of this. Such a blessing!
